Lumberjacks chop down the Moose

The Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks finished their pre-Christmas schedule with a convincing 11-1 win over the Toronto Canada Moose, improving their record to 24-6-0, second in the Greater Metro Jr. A Hockey League last Saturday in Sturgeon Falls.

Timi Tamminen, Magic Rompkowski, Armin Trautmann and Illes Gallo all scored twice, with Atte Koopikka, Adam McParland and Anthony Trozzo each collecting a goal. Koopikka and Tamminen also had 4 assists, Rompkowski and David Amnas, 3 assists, and Richard Wynne and Steeven Nicolet, 2 assists.
Claude Lotscher made 13 saves to gain the win, while the Lumberjacks sent 65 shots at the goaltending tandem of Michael Smart and Aleksandrs Smetani.
