The Hamilton Bulldogs have acquired North Bay native Ben Garagan from the Sudbury Wolves at the OHL Trade Deadline.

In return, the Bulldogs send the Wolves a 5th round draft pick in 2019.

“Ben adds speed and youth to our line-up,” said Bulldogs President and General Manager Steve Staios in a release.

“He has shown offensive upside and we are excited to watch his continued development here with the Bulldogs.”

In 22 games this season Garagan has one goal and two assists.

Over his OHL career he has three goals and seven assists in 82 games.

Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch said Garagan had a tough time finding consistent playing time and was in need of a scenery change.

“Ben was sort of caught up in a numbers situation being one of 14 forwards for us. It was just a case where there was a chance to provide Ben with a new opportunity and a fresh start,” Branch told Sudbury.com.

Garagan is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night when the Bulldogs travel to Sarnia to face the Sting.
