Local brothers compete in half marathon

On Sunday morning (June 5th 2005), local brothers Andrew and Adam Hopkins went down to Blenheim, Ontario (approx. 90minutes from London, ON) and ran in the 2nd annual "Trot the beach" half-marathon. The race started at 8:00 a.m.
On Sunday morning (June 5th 2005), local brothers Andrew and Adam Hopkins went down to Blenheim, Ontario (approx. 90minutes from London, ON) and ran in the 2nd annual "Trot the beach" half-marathon.

The race started at 8:00 a.m. Memorial Park through the town of Blenheim, out to the open country roads to the shores of Lake Erie to Erieau and the race ended 21.1km later at Laverne Kelly Memorial Park at Erieau along the shores of Lake Erie.

Adam Hopkins, 19 years old, finished the course in a time of 1:33:43(1 hour, 33 minutes and 43 seconds) and was 3rd overall.

While his older brother Andrew Hopkins, 20 years old, finished the 21.1km course in a time of 2:01:34 (2 hours, 1 minute and 33seconds) and finished in 20th overall.

Adam was first in the 19 and under age category and Andrew placed 3rd in the 20-29 age category.
