The Nipissing Lakers had their winning streak broken on Saturday.

The Lakers women's hockey team dropped Saturday's contest in Guelph, falling 3-0 to the Gryphons and breaking the team's six-game winning streak to start the season.

On Friday, they defeated the Brock Badgers 4-2 in St. Catharines. Brianna Gaffney, Maggie McKee, Marilyn Fortin and Malory Dominico all scored, while Danika Ranger finished with 28 saves in the victory.

Nipissing is now 6-1-0 on the season and returns home for their next four games, which begins with a matchup with Toronto Friday.
