The Lady Lakers will play host to Trent University Saturday at 2 p.m. The Lady Lakers finished second in the Central-East division with an 11-3 record while Trent finished third in the East division with a 6 and 7 regular season record.

“Trent will be ready to play Saturday,” said head coach John Jeffries.

“One of the keys for our team will be our ability to play with some passion and intensity. We have made the necessary defensive adjustments throughout the week now it’s up to the players to execute and play to their capabilities.”

On the men’s side the Lakers will travel to Belleville to face the Loyalist Lancers Saturday at 3 p.m. The Lakers finished third in the Central-West division with a regular season record of 9-4. Loyalist completed the season with a 10-3 record and finished second in the East division.

“I feel we match up very well against Loyalist,” said head coach Duane Culin. “I am confident in our game plan, and its’ now up to the team to execute. It will be important to come out strong with a lot of intensity to get the crowd out of the match. Both teams are evenly matched so it will all depend on which team comes out to play.”

Nipissing University will play host to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association 2005 Women’s Volleyball Championships Feb 24-26. Niagara College will host the 2005 Men’s OCAA Volleyball Championships. The tournament draw will be determined after the four cross over matches take place this weekend. The OCAA seeding committee will then seed the eight teams and this will determine the scheduled times for the weekend.
