Lakers men continue hot start

The Nipissing Lakers varsity men's hockey team continued its great start improving to 4-0-1 thanks to a 4-3 shootout win over the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury Friday night. 

Jacob Hickey scored the game-winner in the eighth round of the shootout.  

Gabe Lubwele had two goals in regulation while Drake Lindsay had one goal and two assists in the win.

Talor Joseph was solid in goal for the Lakers making 36 stops in regulation.  

With the win, the Lakers move into a tie for first in the OUA East with the Carleton Ravens, with each team sporting eight points. 

The Lakers are back on the road today for an exhibition contest Sunday afternoon against the Cornell Big Red who play in the NCAA.
