The Nipissing Lakers varsity women's hockey team saw its season come to an end this afternoon as they fell 3-2 to the U of T Blues at Varsity arena in Toronto.
Kassie Roache completed her hat trick and broke a 2-2 tie with the game winner near the midway point of the third period.
Jade Gauthier and Maria Dominico had the other goals for the Lakers.
The victory gives the Blues a 2-1 series win in the best-of-three opening round in the battle for the McCaw Cup
The Blues opened with a 3-1 win on home ice last Wednesday but the Lakers rebounded at home Friday night with a key 4-1 win to force Sunday's deciding contest.
