Lakers can't finish off Voyageurs

The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team will need a Game 3 victory of they are going to move on in the OUA Playoffs.

The Lakers fell 4-3 on the road Saturday night to the Laurentian Voyageurs and now face a must-win situation Sunday afternoon.

The Lakers trailed 2-0 and 4-2 in the contest but could not find the equalizer in the setback.   

Janica Vossos, Brooklyn Irwin and Bronwyn Bolduc scored the Lakers goal, while Natalie Graham picked up two helpers in the game.

Irwin finished with two points, while Sam Strassburger and Jade Gauthier picked up assists in the game.

Jackie Rochefort finished with 22 saves, as the Lakers were outshot 26-23.

Game three of the best-of-three series goes Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Memorial Gardens in North Bay.
