Lakers basketball teams in tough in Ottawa

The two Lakers basketball teams came home winless in contests this weekend against both the Carleton Ravens and the Ottawa Gee-Gees on the Family Day weeekend. 
 
The Nipissing Lakers varsity men's squad lost to the Carleton Ravens by a final of 92-49 Friday night on the road. Leading the way for Nipissing was Marcus Lewis and Quintin Ashitei who both had 18 points.
 
On Saturday night, the Lakers lost 78-56 to Ottawa. Marcus Lewis led the Lakers offence with 20 points in the loss.
 
That loss drops the Lakers men's record to 3-20 on the season.  
 
The Nipissing Lakers varsity women's team fell 95-58 to the Gee-Gees on Saturday night. Angeline Campbell led the Lakers with 22 points.  
 
On Friday, they lost to the Carleton Ravens by a final of 72-36 Friday night.  Leading the way for Nipissing was Jamie Soffer with 12 points.
