Lady Panthers drop 4-0 decision (new)

Durham College Lady Lords took advantage of five errors and defeated Canadore College Lady Panthers 4-0 in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s fastball Friday at Kelly Field.

The defending champion Lords scored single runs in the second and sixth innings and added two more in the seventh.

Kristin Hurst went the distance to record the win on a four-hitter. She struck out five.

Leigh Anne Taylor, who tossed a no-hitter in her last start, took the loss. She gave up six hits, struck out one and walked six.

Only one of the Lords runs was earned.

Lynsey Snowball, Krystal Chartrand, Melissa Cross and Taylor had the hits for the Panthers, who are now 1-3.

Barb Courtney had a double and single for the Lady Lords and also scored two runs.

Karen McWilliams had a double.

The two clubs meet Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kelly Field.
