Kerr, had an assist on Sunday afternoon for the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League against the Motor City Mechanics. He was not credited with a shot on goal in regulation, however he did miss on a penalty shot during the overtime shootout in a 3-2 loss.

The 37 year old, notched his 663rd goal Wednesday night, tying the record set by Scott Gruhl, who did it from 1979-1996.

The North Bay native, who's record breaking journey was featured in the Hockey News earlier this season, was one goal away from tying the record at the end of last season but a knee injury kept him out of the Flint Generals first 28 games.

In three games since returning he has a goal and one assist.

His next chance to break the record comes on Wednesday as Kerr's Generals visit Kansas City.
