It's one of the busiest days in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, but on this December 1st, 2012,the North Bay Trappers are standing pat.

The Trappers have been in and out of the national rankings this year and sport an impressive 16-3-2-3 record at the halfway point of the 2012-2013 season.

"We are happy with the kids in our room and have worked hard to get to where we are at the half way point of the season. We do have some areas where we can improve. Our players to this point have earned the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season together and play out the next few weeks leading into our Christmas break,” stated head Coach McCarthy.

“This hockey club has tremendous chemistry and the kind of character that is needed to play deep into the spring, it will be up to our players that we have in our dressing room to decide if we need further player additions and or changes to our roster.”

Trappers president Chris Dawson believes the club has found success due to a long summer of recruiting and the long hours of many.

"I think we have to credit our scouts, coaches and our management team for finding some key players to fill some key roles here this year, we are bigger and faster this season. It will make for a very interesting finish." said Dawson.

Jr. Trappers Director of Operations and Chairman of the Board Tim Clayden has his off ice management team still looking for the special additions to help take the Trappers over the top.

"We are in a position to add as many as 4 players going into the real season as we have 4 open cards and we can still add 2 players without making any changes to our current roster,” said Clayden.

“Our team is made up of a group of special people and some darn good players, including Captain Brad Edwards. Bradley is the kind of person and player that inspires us all to build the best team that we can that will play very late into the spring, giving us a chance to add our Captain back onto our hockey club at just the right time of the year. Our entire team deserve to enjoy the holidays together,we are all looking forward to the real season.”
