IROQUOIS FALLS, ON - The North Bay Jr. Trappers extended their winning streak to 7 games with a convincing 11-3 win over the Abitibi Eskimos at the Jus Jordan arena on Saturday night.
The Trappers led 3-2 after 20 minutes but fired home 6 goals in the middle frame en route to the lop sided victory.
Brennen Dubchak led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist while defenceman Beau Orser recorded 7 assists.
Graham Pickard, Cole Klippenstein, Connor Gilmartin, Duane Wainman, Brandon Janke, Sam Blanchet, Tait Seguin, Danny Carter and Carter Horwitz were the other goals scorers for the Trappers.
"The first period was a little run and gun for both sides," said Jr. Trappers head coach Tom McCarthy.
"We weren't paying close enough attention to defensive responsibilities. When we made that adjustment in between periods and consequently played more in their end in the second. We started to put more pucks at the net and traffic. In return we had 10 different scorers, a balanced score sheet with the exception to Orser's 7 assists in a team effort."
For Orser, the offensive outburst was special, but the Penetenguishene, Ontario native felt it was a graet win for a team which was having trouble scoring.
"We had a great team chat before the game about our mentality going into tonight's game and the mentality we are going to carry from this point forward," said Orser.
"I was lucky to create some offense tonight. It seemed that the 'puck-luck' was working in my favor, and our guys did a great job capitalizing on chances. However, another big game tomorrow that we are already focusing on."
Zach Innes, Wyatt Trumbley, and Daniel Villeneuve scored for the Eskis.
With Saturday's win, the Jr. Trappers move back into a tie for first place with the Soo Thunderbirds.
The Trappers finish off a busy weekend with a 2 pm contest against the Blind River Beavers Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gardens.
