BLIND RIVER, ON - The North Bay Jr. Trappers bounced back from a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Soo Thunderbirds with a hard fought 4-2 win over the Blind River Beavers Sunday afternoon at the Blind River Community Centre.

Devan Turcotte, Trevor Hunt, Connor Gilmartin and Sam Blanchet scored the goals for the Trappers who allowed late goals twice in Blind River to force overtime.

This time, Blanchet, who had an OT winner earlier in the season, sealed the victory with an empty netter in the final minute of play.

"There's no question that team competes every time we play them," noted head coach Tom McCarthy about avoiding another Beavers late comeback Sunday afternoon.

"They have that taste that they can beat everybody. They are a team we can't look past. Today we came out playing and thinking that we were the better hockey team and we played like it."

The Trappers are back on home ice Sunday afternoon as they host the Abitibi Eskimos. Game time is 2 pm at Memorial Gardens.
