The Nipissing Wild finished off the season  after dropping their final road game of the season 54-14 at the hands of the Guelph Jr. Gryphons Saturday night in Guelph.

The Wild finished the season with a 1-7 record.

“Game didn't get off to the start we wanted but being a little short staffed the kids battled right down to the final whistle,” said Wild Head Coach Tyson Brear after the defeat.

“They showed heart and determination in finishing up our season.  The scoreboard didn't end up in our favour but the coaching staff was proud of the effort of every player.”

Wild quarterback Riley Gravelle threw for a pair of touchdown passes on the evening; one to Kain Storm and the other to Kyle Regimbald.

For the Gryphons, it was their fourth straight, win as they improved to 6-2 on the season.

For the Wild, they finished the season on a three game losing streak and finished sixth in the eight-team Ontario Football Conference Varsity North Division, just ahead of the Oakville Titans and Vaughan Rebels who were also at 1-7 on the season.
