Jacobs rolls to win over Chandler.

Defending Olympic Champion Brad Jacobs and the Thunder Bay rink skipped by Colin Koivula are tied for top spot after five draws at the 2016 Travelers Men’s Northern Ontario Championships taking place at the Granite Club this weekend.

Both teams are tied for top spot at 4-1.

The only local team, skipped by Mattawa’s Patrick Gelinas is well behind at 1-4.

This morning Jacobs scored three in the first end and cruised to an 8-3 win over the Jordan Chandler rink out of Sudbury.

In the most dramatic contest of the day fifth draw, the Robbie Gordon rink out of Sudbury battled back from a 6-1 deficit after 6 ends to win their first game 9-6 over the young Sudbury area team skipped by 17-year-old Tanner Horgan. The loss drops Horgan, out of Copper Cliff, to 2-3.
