ST. THOMAS, ON - The North Bay Ice Boltz Midget C team took home Gold on the December 1st & 2nd weekend at the The St. Thomas "Panthers on the Prowl" tournament.
The Ice Boltz opened the Tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over the Tiverton Thunder with all lines contributing and strong defense and goaltending.
The second game was a very physical game and goals were hard to come by.
The Ice Boltz kept the pressure on for the whole game and were rewarded with a 2-1 victory over the Bad Blazers from the London area.
The Ice Boltz' third game was against the other undefeated team in division; the Livonia Knights from Michigan.
The game was a low scoring game with the Knights tying game late and ending the game in 1-1 tie and setting up a rematch in Final on Sunday.
The Ice Boltz came out hard in Final and scored early and set the tempo for the game. The team fired many shots throughout the game and kept the pressure on the Livonia Knights for the complete game. The physical game had a mix of penalties, great passing, scoring chances and great goaltending.
