Guelph Gryphons rookie centre Nick Huard notched five goals in leading the Guelph Gryphons men’s hockey team in two big victories this past week.
On Thursday the North bay product scored the winning goal and the insurance goal in a 4-0 win over the York Lions at the Gryphon Centre.
The Arts major then followed up the next night with a hat-trick, scoring one goal in each period including the winner in the third period in a 3-2 win over the Brock Badgers on Friday night in St. Catharines.
Through 24 games, Huard has recorded 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points.
Last season Huard finished up his junior career making it all the way to the RBC Cup final with the Woodstock Slammers of the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League.
Huard initially started the 2011-2012 season with the OUA's Nipissing Lakers before heading back to his junior A team in September.
