SUDBURY _ The North Bay Trappers defeated Kingston Predators 4-1 to finish with a 3-1 record in round robin play in the annual Big Nickel tournament here.

Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the playoffs losing 3-1 to Gloucester Rangers.

Kyle Willard, Matt Senecal, Kody Carnevale and Martin Lauzon had the goals for the Trappers against Kingston.

Willard scored in the 3-1 loss.

Tyler Hummel’s goal gave the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears a 5-4 win over Chippewa Raiders in the NDA Hockey League.

Each team scored three goals on the powerplay and the Bears outshot the Raiders 24-23.

The North Bay Skyhawks rallied for three goals and defeated Blind River Beavers 3-2 in NOJHL action.

Matt Collins, Dustin McCrank and David Frawley scored for the Skyhawks, who outshot Blind River 35-31.

Stuart Fricke was in goal for North Bay.
