Gymtrix's Shea is Golden at Ontario Gymnastics Qualifier

The 10-year-old Vincent Massey student competed in the Level 5 category and walked away with the Gold medal for the highest score on the Vault event.

She also placed 6th place on Balance Beam and 6th place Overall.

Melina Levasseur, a Provincial Level 7 gymnast, narrowly missed a podium finish after placing 4th on Vault.

Levasseur also had a 5th place finish on Uneven Bars, a 6th place finish on Floor Exercise and was 7th place overall.

Caleigh Porter finished 7th on Vault and 8th on Floor Exercise in the Level 6 – 12 year old category.

Competing in the Level 5 – 11 year category, Meghan Spencer was 5th place on Vault and 6th place on floor Exercise and Victoria Desfosses placed 8th on Balance Beam.

The competition circuit for gymnastics and trampoline is now in full swing. The Gymtrix team, made up of over 40 athletes in three disciplines - Women’s and Men’s Artistic as well as Trampoline, take part in various leagues including Interclub, Provincial and National stream.

The club will finish off the competition season in June when they host the 15th Annual Gymtrix Sunshine Invitational Competition at Nipissing University.

The competition will feature close to 500 athletes from around the province in Womens, Mens and Trampoline.
