Five members from the Gymtrix Women’s Provincial team attended the annual Tour Selection competition in Mississauga November 9-11th. The top 8 all around gymnasts from each level were selected as part of Team Ontario which travel to California in January.
Level 8 gymnast Victoria Desfosses had a slight error on her landing on her second tumbling line which took her out of the Gold medal position. Her routine difficulty was high and executed well enough to land her in 5th position out of 67 of Ontario’s best gymnasts. Her Tsukahara Vault also landed in her 16th place on that event.
Moving from level 6 to 7 this season was 14 year old Vanessa Perrault. A solid balance beam performance with a score of 9.416 (out of 10) ranked her 9th out of 80 gymnasts. Returning to competition after a year off was level 7 gymnast Tessa Tripodi. She was 15th on the Floor Exercise with a score of 9.45 and 22nd on the Balance Beam.
Teammates Kaylee and Koral Tench made the jump from level 6 to level 7 this season. Kaylee was 22nd and Koral was 24th on the Vault.
