21st Annual Gymtrix Sunshine Classic this weekend!

The 21st annual Sunshine Classic is happening this weekend at the Robert Surtees Athletic Centre on Nipissing University campus.
The event takes place from Thursday (May 23) to Sunday (May 26).
Organizers say the Gymtrix Sunshine Classic continues to be one of the largest Gymnastics Ontario sanctioned Invitational events in the province with over 800 gymnasts, coaches and judges participating this year.
There are 29 clubs from all reaches of Ontario attending with the youngest participants being 5 years old (Showcase) while the oldest gymnast is 59 years (Masters). The levels of athletes participating include Showcase, Interclub, Provincial and Masters. Competition sessions take place back to back throughout the weekend and are approximately two hours in length.
“We are very happy to see the Sunshine Classic return for its 21st year," said Larry Tougas, Sport Tourism Coordinator with Tourism North Bay.
"Gymtrix has worked extremely hard over the years to make this one of North Bay’s biggest sporting events. The ongoing economic impact of the event, and others like it are very important to our community.”

Sunday, May 26
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Women’s Apparatus – Levels 2-4 (Compulsories)
Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for Seniors, Students and Children. Kids under 5 yrs are free.
Weekend passes are available.
