KAPUSKASING, ON - Tyler Peters scored a third period power play goal as the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers defeated the Kapuskasing Flyers 3-2 in game 1 of the best-of-five Great North Midget League quarterfinals which faced off here on Saturday night.

Peters got the Trappers on the board with a goal at 19:27 of the opening frame to even the score at 1-1.

Eric Champagne scored a power play marker midway through the second period to give the Trappers a 2-1 lead.

Miguel Lefebvre pulled the trigger for the Flyers less than 3 minutes later to even the score at 2-2.

Game 2 takes place at 2 pm in Kapuskasing on Sunday afternoon.

The Trappers will come home with at least a split in the first two games.

Game 3 is back in North Bay at 7:20 pm on Saturday, February 16th at West Ferris arena.
