The Kapuskasing Flyers were led by 2 goals from Olivier Chabot as the visitors took a 2 games to 1 series lead over the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers with a 6-3 win at West Ferris arena on Saturday night.

The game was fairly close after 40 minutes. With the score 3-0 after the second period the Flyers added 2 more quick goals to put it out of reach and chased starter Cole Leon in favour of Jake Shannon.

Flyers goaltender Sylvain Miron made a number of key saves including the major league diving blocker save in the second period along with forcing Eric Champagne to go wide on a partial breakaway also in the 2nd period.

Jake Staples, Adrien Guenette, and Eric Champagne scored for the Trappers all in the 3rd period.

The Flyers win makes it a 2 games to 1 series lead for the visitors, who have a chance to move on to the Great North Midget League semi-final with a win Sunday afternoon at West Ferris arena. The Trappers and Flyers meet again Sunday afternoon for Game 4 of the series which takes place at 1:20 pm.
