Gagnon strikes gold at Barrie Invitational meet

This past weekend about 20 swimmers from the North Bay Titans swim team participated for the first time in the Barrie Aquafest Invitational swim meet hosted by the Barrie Trojan Swim Club.
This past weekend about 20 swimmers from the North Bay Titans swim team participated for the first time in the Barrie Aquafest Invitational swim meet hosted by the Barrie Trojan Swim Club. This 3-day meet gathered swimmers from regions all throughout Ontario and the Titans proved to be successful in achieving top place finishes as well as several personal best times.

Renee Gagnon (16) led the way for the Titans bringing home gold medals in the 200 meter and 100 meter backstroke events. Gagnon captured a gold medal in the 200m back with a time of 2:24.81 which resulted in a new personal best time and also posted a time of 1:07.16 to land the gold in the 100m backstroke swim. The success continued for Gagnon as she also swam to a 3rd and 4th in the 400 meter freestyle and 200 meter freestyle events respectively.

Other Titans earning impressive spots were Dylan Jackson 3rd in the 200m freestyle for 15 and over age category, Grace Liritzis placed 2nd in the 100 meter butterfly and 4th in the 200 meter butterfly. Liritzis swims in the female 13-14 age category.

Titans achieving personal best times at the meet were Keltan Baran, Anisha Bhattacharyya, Aurora Buckley, Jesse Hives, Caitlyn Jones, Kaytlin Legris, Talia Preston, Noah Swain, Katherine Tripp and Regine Wyss.

Later this month, on November 24th and 25th, the North Bay Titans Swim Club will host the NEOR Developmental #2 meet.
