Eight top three finishes for Apollo Gymnasts

A total of 29 gymnasts from the Apollo Gymnastics Club attended the Envol 2019 provincial qualifier in Ottawa, ON.

Gymnasts brought home a total of 45 medals, including 10 gold.

Competing in the Level 6 age 14 category, Jenna Lowe was awarded a gold medal for her uneven bar routine, as well as, a silver and bronze on the vault and floor.

She placed 2nd all around. Teammate Kayla Pyne, competing in the Level 6 age 15+ category, won gold on the floor and silver on the balance beam. She finished the day in the 3rd place all around in a field of 10.

Three Level 4 gymnasts hit the podium in the all around competition. Carlie Popp and Abigail Auger placed 1st and 2nd overall in the age 11 category.

Popp was awarded gold on the balance beam and floor, and silver on vault, while Auger placed 1st on the uneven bars, 2nd on beam and floor, and 3rd on vault. In the Level 4 age 9 – 10 category,

Jenna Robertson-Palmer won gold on the uneven bars, a pair of silver medals on vault and floor, and a bronze on beam. She was 1st all around.

Competing in the Level 3 category was 10 year old Madison Tremblay. Tremblay was awarded a silver medal on the floor exercise, as well as, a pair of bronze medals on the vault and balance beam. She placed 3rd overall.

Competing in her first competition, 10 year old Mercy Routley finished the day at the top of the podium in Level 2 category. Routley also brought home a gold on floor, a silver on bars and a bronze on vault. Level 2 teammate, Isabella Amendola, placed 2nd all around in the Level 2 age 11 category. Amendola also placed 2nd on bars and floor, and 3rd on beam.

On February 9 -10, the Apollo Gymnastics women’s team with be attending the Muskoka Classic competition in Bracebridge, ON.
