The Widdifield Wildcats and their fans had a lot to cheer about at the 37th annual East-West game held at Memorial Gardens.

But things didn't look good early in the fifth and final period as the Wildcats allowed two goals by the Trojans who held on for a 2-1 victory, knotting the contest at 5-5. It was a win for Team West but overtime would make them forget about that very quickly.

In the extra frame Jesse Bethune was credited with the overtime goal less than 3 minutes in for the Cats and the roar of the East crowd almost blew the roof off of Memorial Gardens.

It was a double victory for the Cats, as the East Spirit award went to the North Bay high school. Franco Cite of Sturgeon Falls won the Spirit award for the West side.
