The North Bay and District Girls Hockey Association (NBDGHA) is pleased to announce the continuation of their U-15 and U-18 AA hockey programs and coaching appointments for the 2021-22 season.

David Dugas has been named head coach of the U-15 AA Ice Boltz while Jeff Roynon will lead the U-18 AA Ice Boltz. David Dugas has been coaching minor hockey for the past 10 years in North Bay. His coaching experience began as an assistant coach for 5 years with the West Ferris Minor Hockey AA program and continued for another 2 years with the North Bay Trappers AAA program. Dugas has more than five years of experience of coaching with NBDGHA, the past two seasons as the head coach of the U-13 A program.

Dugas looks forward to the challenge at the AA level,

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with next year’s U-15 AA team,” said Dugas in a release.

With seven years coaching experience under NBDGHA, and over 10 years of coaching locally, Jeff Roynon is building on his recent two years with the U-15 AA Ice Boltz.

Roynon is excited about his move to the U-18 AA Ice Boltz and continuing to work with players at the highest level.

“It’s great to work with these driven athletes and watch them compete against the strongest teams in the province.” Roynon said in a release.

As they hope to return to a regular hockey program next season, both coaches plan on development and preparation for competition in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League.

The U-15 and U-18 AA Ice Boltz teams have a storied history of success in the province, including a U-18 AA provincial championship back in 2013.
