Dedicating season to a fallen teammate

The West Ferris Junior Trojan soccer team opened its season
Tuesday evening with a great performance after some really tough moments over the past week. A key member of our team passed away last week, and the team participated in
the funeral service on Saturday. We have dedicated this season to Ryan Fleming by wearing black arm bands, and have retired his jersey for the season to pay respect and to honour his love of the game and the energy he brought to the squad. I felt that we performed well as a team, and to tie the defending champion Patriots in our opening match says a lot about the chemistry of the team.
