West Ferris Trojans Linebacker’s continues his memorable fall with more tremendous news.

After being named the NDA Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week and winning an NDA Football title, Dale got even better news on Wednesday when he signed a letter of intent with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football team.

Dale, signed with the U Sports football team while attending the OFSAA Cup Showcase at the Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton.

He joins a team coached by the Michael Faulds, who was recently named the Canadian University Football Coach of the Year.

The Golden Hawks finished with an impressive 7-1 record and captured their first Yates Cup championship this fall; the club's first Yates Cup win since 2005.

Dale says he was first approached by Laurier at a Prospects Game last year when he played for Team Central.

“Well I was for sure beyond excited to be given the opportunity to be apart of such a successful football organization,” said Dale, son of well known Nugget Reporter Dave Dale.

“It was almost a familiar feeling just because I had pictured it in my head for years now,” added Dale who has won NDA championships in football, baseball and hockey with the Trojans.

The 6’2”, 210 pounder credits the Nipissing Wild and West Ferris Trojans coaching staffs for helping with his development, along with fitness trainer Dave Whitehead.
