TSN is reporting that North Bay's Mike Yeo met with new Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion on the weekend about the vacant coaching position with the team.

The 42-year-old Yeo, who was 173-132-44 in five seasons with the Wild, was fired in mid-February.

The Senators fired head coach Dave Cameron last week after he posted a 70-50-17 record over parts of two seasons behind the Senators bench.

Yeo has still been keeping busy as he was recently named as an Assistant Coach for Team Canada at the upcoming World Hockey Championships which take place in Russia in May.

Yeo was an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2006-10, following his six seasons as an assistant coach with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

Yeo celebrated his Penguins Stanley Cup victory by sharing the trophy with the city of North Bay in the summer of 2009.
