Cats win bronze

The weekend of September 25, the Widdifield Senior boy’s volleyball team traveled to Kingston for the 17th annual Queens Invitational tournament. Round Robin play began with Widdifield playing Carleton Place winning 25-23 and 25-16.
The weekend of September 25, the Widdifield Senior boy’s volleyball team traveled to Kingston for the 17th annual Queens Invitational tournament.

Round Robin play began with Widdifield playing Carleton Place winning 25-23 and 25-16. Widdifield’s second game saw the cats win two straight against Nicholson C.C. 25-15 and 25-7.

The cats finished round robin play with a split against Regiopolis –ND 22-25 and 25-18 placing the cats first in their pool and sending them to the quarterfinals. In quarterfinal play the Cats defeated Frontenac two straight 25-20 and 25-15 advancing them to the semifinals against K.V.C.I.

Widdifield lost two straight to the eventual winners 25-10 and 25-20. This placed the Cats in the bronze medal game against Sharbot Lake.

The Cats beat Sharbot Lake in the first set 25-19 and coming back in the second set to win 26-24 winning the bronze medal.

Congratulations to first-team all star Jeremy Tremblay and second team all-stars David Hennessy and Ben Biffis. Other team members include Coach Danny Gossellin, Wes Patterson, Kory Crawford, Dylan Zajack, Bobby Atkins, Jason Duhaime, and Jesse Gardner.
