Lockton’s Farm was host to a Hunter Jumper Schooling Show that attracted over 25 riders and their horses to Callander last Sunday. Contestants chose among 20 class events ranging from equitation, hunter over fences and open jumper events all having green, novice and intermediate divisions.

The show was judged by Valerie King and organized by Paige Lockton-Wilde. The Lockton family has a long history of involvement in both the local horse scene and international competition. After a successful career in international three-day eventing, Paige Lockton-Wilde has returned to Callander to raise her family and teach riding in the North Bay area. These schooling shows have been organized to give local riders an opportunity to practice their skills before taking their horses out of town to bigger shows. This annual event also gives some riders an opportunity to practice their skills after taking part in the various week-long training camps offered by Paige Lockton-Wilde throughout the summer.
