It was another scorcher Saturday in what is turning out to be an extended summer.

The kids continue to score many smiles as they improve each week in their blocking and tackling skills in the Bulldogs Youth Tackle Football League’s 14th season.

In the Tyke division (grades 5 & 6) game week 2 between the Black and Gray teams, the Black team came out swinging as Tommy Pipe found a seam to open the scoring for Black on a 52-yard run. However, Gray’s speedy Corbin Jones continued to work hard & fast, proving to be the difference as he scored 3 TDs & kicked 2 converts as the game ended 22–6 in Gray’s favor.

In the 2nd half of this matchup, the Gray Peewees (grades 7 & 8) scored on the first play with Black seemingly not quite ready to start with Nick Cote scoring from 51 yds out. Black responded with an exciting 43 yd run by Ethan Wright up the middle to tie the game. Nick Cote took an outside run the distance to put Gray up 12 – 6. In the 2nd half, Black took the lead again as Ethan Wright capped a drive with a 15 yd score. Noah Brooks kicked a 2 pt convert to put his team up 14- 12. With only 5 plays left in the game, Owen Desrosiers took a handoff 25 yds to paydirt to put his team in the lead & Seth Hamilton kicked a 2 point convert in the 20 – 14 Gray win.

In the Yellow vs White matchup, the Tyke yellow team took control of their early as Nate Sinclair & Mathieu Desbiens each scored on long exciting runs. Nick Palezcny scored a rushing TD & Lucas Nashkawa made a nice reception which scored from 20 yds out. Nick Palezcny kicked 2 PATs in their 30 -0 game vs White.

The PeeWees match between yellow and white was truly exciting as both teams exchanged leads 4 times.

Evan Drinkwalter & Brayden Lucci scored for Gold while Logan Cutter scored twice for white. Janik Vezina for white & Aden Dionne for Gold each kicked 2 PATs in the close 22–16 White win with Quintin Vega-Goulais broking away and scoring on a 65 yd reverse to cap the scoring for White.

Next games will be at Chippewa on Saturday, September 30th starting at 11 a.m.
