The Steelers know tonight’s game is a must win for them.
The Bulldogs want a win to cement their chances of finishing in the higher echelons in the Northern Football Conference.
And looming in the future are the Oakville Longhorns.
Oakville comes to North Bay for a game at Rollie Fischer Field Saturday July 10.
Quarterback Dave Wilson is coming off a game which saw him complete 13 of 23 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown.
He was named the NFC’s offensive player of the week.
Wilson is ranked third in passing statistics with 41 completions out of 86 attempts for 580 yards. He has thrown for five TDS, but has also been intercepted seven times.
His prime receiver is Ford Morland, who has 11 receptions for 211 yards.
The running game is anchored by the durable Mick Bilz. He has rushed for 213 yards on 54 carries, fourth best in the league.
Of course, the defence is also doing its job and is anchored by Mike Gauthier, Robin Pineau, Brad Kerr, Kelly Lloyd, Justin Bouffard, Dwayne Guy and Nick Hallett.
