Powassan’s Lucas Brown is moving on while North Bay’s Colton Point has had his season come to an end.

The two local players are competing at the Royal Bank Cup (Canada's Junior 'A' Championship tournament) which is taking place in Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan this week.

Point, had a breakout season with the Carleton Place Canadians, but the Fred Page Cup champions struggled at the RBC Cup finishing with four losses; one in overtime.  Point, who is a Colgate commit and the fourth rated North American Goalie by Central Scouting for the NHL Entry Draft, finished with a 3.82 G.A.A. in four games along with a .904 save percentage.

That winless record eliminated the Canadians from the semi-finals in the five-team tournament.

Meantime, Lucas Brown’s Trenton Golden Hawks are moving on the the semi-finals Saturday thanks to three wins and an overtime loss.  Brown finished the round robin portion with two goals in four games.

Brown’s Golden Hawks face the host Lloydminster Bobcats Saturday afternoon.  In the other semi-final, the West Kelowna Warriors meet the Brooks Bandits.
