This past weekend Winnipeg, Manitoba played host to the Canadian Club Nationals, in which 1600 swimmers from over 140 swim teams from across Canada attended. It brought the best age group swimmers to this city for 4 days of competition in the last swim meet of the season.

Two swimmers from the North Bay Titan Swim Team attended, Dominique Bouchard (14) and Daniel Grant (13). Both showed up in great condition to go up against the best age group swimmers in the country. Bouchard showed what a talented backstroker she is by winning gold in the 13 & 14 girls 200 backstroke in a time of 2:24.32 and silver in the 100 with a time of 1:07.49. She was also tenth in the 50 backstroke and 15th in the 200 individual medley.

Daniel Grant, who has only been swimming with the Titans for 3 months, did a great job as he attended his first national level meet. He made finals for the 100 breast stroke and finished in 8th position with a time of 1:18.57. He was also 10th for the 50 breaststroke in a time of 36.44. Both swimmers represented North Bay with a lot of pride and skill and are now off for the rest of the summer before training starts in the second week of September. For all of those future Olympians or for those who just want to learn to swim better, watch for the Titans registration at the end of August at the YMCA.
