Black Bears down Skyhawks 3-2 (new)

ST. IGNACE — Northern Michigan Black Bears scored two goals in the third period to edge the North Bay Skyhawks 3-2 in NOJHL action here Saturday night.

The Skyhawks led 2-I going into the third on goals by Danny Loach and Josh Merson.

Newcomer Kyle Jacobson netted the game-winner to garner first star honours with Jordan Bowman and Ben Biddick adding the other goals.

Danny Loach and Josh Merson answered for North Bay, who played their third consecutive one-goal game. Tony Stoehr picked up the win in net for Northern Michigan with a 19-save performance while Stuart Fricke took the loss while making 26 saves for the Skyhawks.

The Skyhawks are in Blind River tonight to face the Beavers. North Bay is in second place in the Eastern Division with 11 points.
