Beat goes on for Barons (new)

It’s seven and counting for the Ecole Secondaire Catholique Barons in NDA senior girls basketball. A stellar defence and outstanding ball control on offence enabled the Barons to defeat the Widdifield Wildcats 31-19 and go to 7-0 on the season.

The Wildcats battled the entire game and came to within five points of the Barons late in the fourth quarter.

With Barons Kristine Zwolak out with an injury, Blair Kitlar took over the point guard duties and controlled the offence.

Mila Paris held the hot hand for the winners with 13 points and Simard had 12.

Stephanie Greenwood had seven points for the Wildcats and Kali Gawinski four.

Players of the game were Greenwood and Simard.

The Barons go up against the Chippewa Raiders at the RaiderDome Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
