The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears senior boys basketball team captured gold in the NOSSA AAA final thanks to a tight 50-47 victory over St. Mary’s College on Saturday.
Nathan Dufresne led the Bears attack with 12 points while Chris Sweeney contributed 10 points.
The Bears will now move on to represent NOSSA at the AAA OFSAA Championships being held here in North Bay from March 6th to 8th.
Meantime, in the NOSSA AAA junior final it was St. Mary’s edging out the Bears 55-38.
John Henry Merkley led the Bears with 11 points while Nolan Reynolds contributed six points.
