Hello North Bay, hope your day is going great!

This past Saturday, the North Bay Trappers enjoyed the privilege of playing a friendly scrimmage with the North Bay North Stars at Pete Pelangio arena.

When we arrived at the rink the North Stars made their presence known as they jokingly called out some of the Trappers. I remember their goalie chirping Brandon Janke, wishing him luck to get one by him.

We got into the dressing room and started getting ready when the North Stars coach came in and asked if some of us would trade jerseys and play with the North Stars. I jumped at the chance along with Corbin Bean, Brandon Janke, Duane Wainman, Brennen Dubchak, Daniel Carter, and Carter Horwitz.

We hit the ice for a quick warm-up, and after a short five minutes it was game time.

Everybody had a big smile on their face as we played.

Greg Dodds and Dustin Hummel gave their best effort as they skated out as forwards. The talent was good on both sides!

I remember feeding a saucer pass to a North Star as he one-timed it top corner past the goalie.

I also remember Dodds trying to score and getting robbed on a few different occasions, including his shootout attempt.

It was a great game and we skated to a satisfying 7-7 tie.

After the game we got undressed and started heading out, when we were told there was pizza in the party room! It was fun to share some pizza slices and a pop with the players and families of the North Bay North Stars and reminisce on some of the goals and saves that happened during the game.

It was such a great and fun experience and I know we all had a fantastic time!

I wish I wasn’t aging out this year so I could come back and do it again next year!

This Friday we take on Blind River in Espanola and then Kirkland Lake at Memorial Gardens on Sunday.

Come help us win four points this weekend!
Go Trapps Go!!
