The clock is ticking on the holiday shopping season, fortunately, the Granite Club might just have the perfect gift for the active person on your list.

In today’s day and age people are trending away from material objects and more towards clutter-free gifts like consumables, memberships, classes, services or experiences; and there is no experience quite like Curling for a Canadian who has failed to yet throw forty pounds of granite down a sheet of ice.

Community Game Night: There’s simply nothing more authentically Canadian than putting on your toque and heading out for a night of curling and crokinole with a beer and pineapple on pizza to boot. You could make this dream a reality when you pay for individual or team to join the excitement organized on the first Friday of every month during curling season. Cost is $25 + HST / person for a 60-minute orientation, 90-minute curling game and pizza; followed by an evening of old-fashioned fun and board games in the lounge.

Adult Learn to Curl: Take the time to learn the game properly with Regional Curling Professional Laura Johnston. This 7-week package features 90-minute lessons on Sunday nights at 7 p.m., Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m., or Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. Graduates advance into the club’s Rookie League where they compete against other beginner-level players. Cost is $210 + HST.

Kids Learn to Curl: Yes, Curling is for kids too! Register your young ones for seven weeks of introductory lessons for only $70 + HST. At an age where one should be sampling all different sports and activities - add Curling to the list, and if they love it they will be adequately prepared to join the club’s junior program in the fall.

Private Lessons: Spend just one hour with our Curling Professional and we know that you’ll be hooked, but in the worst-case scenario that you’re not – you’ve wasted the least amount of time giving it an honest go, that’s a positive right?

Rental Ice: People rent a lane at the bowling alley or some time at the pool table, why not do the same with Curling? Purchase a gift certificate for some ice time at $80 + HST / hour then get your friends together to experience what North Bay’s been going crazy about.

For the already converted consider an item from our Pro Shop, which is open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Various forms of head protection are gaining popularity at all ages, while delivery sticks are all the buzz among daytime curlers and new pair of shoes at any level is always a welcome addition to the locker.
