North Bay Bantam A Ice Boltz beat the Brampton Ice Cats #6th ranked team in Ontario on home ice 3-0 in the Gold Medal Game at the Wayne Gretzky Centre in Brantford.

North Bay rebounded from a 0-3 loss to this very team in the round robin the day before when Brantford handed the Boltz only thier 4 loss of the season.

Renee Lind opened the scoring in the 1st period for North Bay on a great shot from the slot.

Ella Oullette's point shot early in the 2nd was tipped in by Abby Schaffnter, and late in the 3rd period Oullette scored on her own to ice the Cats.

Madison Moore contributed with two assists while Mave O'Hagan and Rachel Landry also had helpers in the victory.

Emily Hanson was the game MVP with the shutout in net for North Bay.

"I have to admit that this tournament win is very satisfying for us as a team. I couldn't be anymore proud of how these girls handled themselves on and off the ice," head coach Dan Garagan had to say after the big win.

The 26-4-4 Ice Bolz now focus on thier next game vs Sudbury 8:15 p.m. at Pete Palangio arena Tuesday night, the Boltz lead the best of 3 playoff series 1-0.
