The Bantam Bulldogs traveled to the Clarington Knights in OPFL quarterfinal action Saturday night where they pulled of a convincing 22-6 road win.

The Bulldogs quickly got on the board on their second offensive drive of the game with a pass to Will McCharles on a fake field goal attempt by Andrew Robillard, Janik Vezina made the extra point to put the Bulldogs up 7-0 going into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs and the Knights exchanged drives until the Bulldogs drove deep into the Knights territory and added 3 more points to go up 10-0 into the half.

In the third quarter, the Bulldogs punted the ball and Zachary White made a great hit on the receiver to separate him from the ball and Quintin Vega-Goulais picked up the fumble and took it back 40 yards to put the Bulldogs up 16-0 to end the third quarter.

The Knights finally got on the board in the fourth quarter but on the next offensive series the Bulldogs marched down the field and capped off the drive with a 1 yard sneak by Zachary White to go up 22-6.

“All parts of the game were on today," said coach Eric Morgan about Saturday's win.

“We moved the ball on offense and kept the ball out of their offense hands.  Our defense shut them out till late in the fourth and we even scored on special teams.  It was a really good game for us.”

The Bantam Bulldogs advance to the semi-finals next weekend and will face either Woodstock or Guelph which will be decided after Sunday’s games are done.
