Bantam AAA Blades tryouts continue

North Bay – Hilltop Variety Blades Major Bantam AAA hockey club opened the third and final phase of their tryouts for this year’s team on Sunday, August 21, 2005. Tryouts continue this week with sessions on Tuesday, August 23rd from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 24th from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday, Augst 26th from 6-8 p.m. at Pete Palangio Arena. Tryouts will culminate with two exhibition games one at noon and the second at 6 p.m. against Onaping Falls on Saturday, August 27th at the Tom Davies Arena in Walden, followed by a two hour ice session at Pete Palangio on Sunday, August 28th.

With 24 players attending the final tryouts, 10 of whom are already signed, it is expected the remaining vacancies will be hotly contested. The Hilltop Variety Blades will then kick start their season in Toronto when they will compete with 30 other AAA teams, including Detroit Compuware and Syracuse Stars at the Toronto Red Wings Early Bird Tournament 9-11 September, 2005.
