Auld helps Canada to win at Spengler Cup

Former North Bay Centennials goalie Alex Auld stopped 33 shots as Canada's National Team defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Russian Super League 5-2 in Canada's opening game of the Spengler Cup tournament.
Former North Bay Centennials goalie Alex Auld stopped 33 shots as Canada's National Team defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Russian Super League 5-2 in Canada's opening game of the Spengler Cup tournament.

Another former Centennial, Ryan Gardner, had a goal for Canada in the victory.

Canada's team, made up of European professionals and minor pro players face the host team from Davos on Monday.

Canada is the two time defending champion of the annual European event.
