The North Bay Athletics dropped a 7-1 decision to the Northern Ontario Bantam AAA league leaders the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Saturday morning at West Ferris Arena to start off the three game weekend series in the Gateway City. Justin Brear scored the lone marker in the second period for the Athletics. The Hounds dominated the play in the first period jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead en route to another Hounds victory.

The Hounds followed up the morning win with a 12-2 whipping over the Athletics Saturday night at Pete Palangio arena. Peter Easton and Joel Senecal scored for the Athletics, who were down 8-1 after two periods of play. Brett Perlini led the Hounds scoring parade with 5 goals, while Dean Howard had 2 goals and 7 assists in the rout.

Sunday morning the theme continued back at West Ferris Arena as the Soo shut out the Athletics 7-0. Justin Hogsden got the shutout, while Dean Howard, Jarret Burton and Mike Rivard each had a pair of goals for the Hounds.

The two clubs meet again next weekend in Sault Ste. Marie to end the regular season.
