North Bay’s Jared Armstrong is a national champion.
The 15-year-old from the ARES Kickboxing and Fitness club won the National Championship belt in the 60 kilogram class in the low kick rule style at the 2016 Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing National Championships that were held in Burlington on the weekend.
Armstrong defeated Luke Field in the championship bout.
The event boasted more than 125 participants from more than 27 clubs.
