The North Bay & District Trappers AAA Hockey Association will be suspending operations until further notice, the association announced in a release on Tuesday.

The news comes around the time when the organization traditionally announces its new coaches for the upcoming season followed by tryout schedules.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Hockey Canada has shut down all forms of hockey activity from tryouts to practices, and even team meetings.

"The North Bay & District Trappers AAA Hockey Association would like to announce to all players, parents and partners that due to the COVID-19 situation we are suspending all operations until further notice," a release from the Trappers Board of Directors stated.

"This will include tryouts for the coming season, coaching announcements, and our annual AGM."

The Trappers Board says once the NOHA and Hockey Canada has approved the return to regular hockey operations the NBDTHA will begin to plan for the 2020-21 season.

"We want to thank all of our players, parents and partners for their understanding and stress for all of us to stay safe during this difficult time," the release continued.

The NBTHA oversees six AAA hockey teams from minor peewee to major midget.
