Theft of farm equipment

MATTAWA – On August 31, 2015, a member of the Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break, enter and theft at a residence in the 500 block on Highway 17, Papineau-Cameron Township. 

Through investigation, police learned that, between August 17, 2015, and August 31, 2015, unknown person(s) entered the property and took several items. 

The following items are some of the items reported missing at this time;

  • 1990 Lister 2-cylinder generator
  • 14 foot aluminum Princecraft boat, blue in colour with worn out paint
  • Steel trailer to carry 14 foot aluminum boat
  • 65 HP 3165 Massey Ferguson backhoe
  • 65 HP Massey Ferguson tractor
  • Massey Ferguson hay mower (attached to tractor)
  • 6 HP boat motor, older model
  • Propane fridge.

Approximate value of items taken is $20,000.

Members of the North Bay Forensic Identification unit (FIU) are assisting in the investigation.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

Fourth suspect identified in home invasion

Members with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment and the Crime Unit continue their investigation into the August 30, 2015 home invasion which occurred at a residence on Songis Road in Redbridge at approximately 4 a.m.

North Bay OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the fourth suspect who has now been identified as Karl BELANGER, 27, of North Bay. He is described as white, 5’ 9” (175 cms), 147 lbs. (67 kgs.), brown hair and brown eyes.  A Province wide arrest warrant has been issued for his involvement in the Home Invasion.  

Anyone having contact with this offender or information in regards to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
